Optional trip to Waterland

Waterland is a water park in Thessaloniki, Greece. It opened in 1994 and it is the largest waterpark in Eastern Europe as it covers an area of 150,000 square metres.

A waterpark is an amusement park that features waterplay areas, such as water slides, splash pads, spraygrounds (water playgrounds), lazy rivers, or other recreational bathing, swimming, and barefooting environments. Waterparks in more current states of development may also be equipped with some type of artificial surfing or bodyboarding environment such as a wave pool or a FlowRider.

Waterland currently offers six pools, the junior pool with junior slides, Knossos Luxury Pool, the Wave pool, Crazy River, Simpoli 5 eXtreme Slides and SuperSlides.

Also, since 2008 a new attraction was set in function, the Pirates island..

It is located at Tagarades, a village at the outskirts of Thessaloniki on the way to Chalkidiki.

It is open from May to September. About 100.000 people visit the park each year.
